Pine is a softwood which grows in most areas of the Northern Hemisphere; Pine is lightweight, straight grained and resists shrinking and swelling
No. 1 & Better grade lumber consists of many pieces of fine appearance suitable for exposed uses; the strength qualities of this grade make it desirable for use in almost all classes of heavy construction; this grade may also include grades “Better” than No. 1
The wood dried at during as part of the manufacturing process and is less likely to warp or check after installation
Tongue and groove joints allow the boards to be joined strongly together and function as a single flat surface
